May wrap-up
I caught this angelic look on Evelyn's face-- so cute! And she loves to pull up to stand to check out the television buttons!
We started making summer plans! I'm sure we won't get to them all, but it will be a great idea list.
Cora made this in school, I thought it was so cute. Cora Jan stands for: cute, only 6, reading, 'adoribil', just running, amazing, nice. Why, yes, that is correct!
Violet and her bean plants, from storytime at the library. They really grew this time! We haven't had much luck in the past.
Luke always begs for these huge, unwieldy carts. It's fun for the kids at least!
We got to visit with friends and take a bike ride--we love this perfect weather!
Miss Kara and Violet with her tumbling class. Violet loves her and she has learned so much! Miss Kara gave them hula hoops as a goodbye present.
5/23 --Evelyn finally is showing interest in her walking toy this week. She loves it and is getting so fast she won't slow down for a picture! My fingers are crossed that she'll be fully walking before camping in 7 weeks! She stood on her own for the first time last week, so now that she has a taste of success, hopefully she'll be a fast learner despite her late start.
5/27 --Evelyn took her first steps! She took two steps a bunch of times throughout the day, then took 5 steps in a row for an evening performance with family, pez being her primary motivator. Will walk for PEZ!
Cora's Play
The first grade play was all about life cycles. It was pretty cute, and even had a bunch of catchy songs that easily got stuck in all our heads while Cora practiced them at home.
The kids each chose an animal to dress up as. Cora was a bunny. Her pink ears made her easy to spot!
Big props to her teacher and the music teacher who put a 20 minute performance together with 125
6-7 year olds!
Violet's Preschool Graduation
Violet had a great year of preschool! She really loved Miss Angie, and had fun with so many friends in her preschool class. She is ready for kindergarten!
The class did some cute songs Miss Angie had each student come up one at a time so she could tell a little bit about them.
Violet was acting shy and looked down the whole time :).
Here's Violet with one of her great friends, Logan. They had so much playing together, we heard a lot about Logan at home!
Congratulations on your preschool graduation Violet!

Zoo time!
First off, though, we ordered caterpillars again. The kids loved watching them crawl around, grow, and make their cocoons. And it is pretty miraculous to watch them hatch out into butterflies! This time around one of the butterflies had a problem getting out of his cocoon, and had a crippled wing. I felt horrible, but I don't think there was much we could do to prevent it.
After we had them for a few days, we released them. Before they left,
Off they go!
Our zoo pass expired the end of May, so we fit in one last trip. We'll probably renew after all the construction is done. It was perfect weather, and not crowded.

Family time
Evelyn got to experience the fountains at City Creek for the first time. She got a bit of a surprise!
Luke played until he was soaked through. He loved standing above the spigots and waiting for it to spray in his face-- what a character! Then he wanted his wet clothes off ASAP! His little body doesn't retain much heat.
Playing at Kissie and Pata's house.
We had Kissie, Pata, Shad, Jen, Bailee, and Layla over to our house for Memorial Day.
The kids had a great time with the bounce house, water table, slide, and kiddie pool.

Outside
The weather outside is perfect! We spent a lot of time at parks and even went swimming in the neighborhood pool.
Evelyn loves the baby swings! With more mellow pushes, she wore a satisfied smile, with big pushes she giggled and giggled!
