We were lucky to have swim lessons with Bobbi again this year. The kids love her and they learn so much.
Luke shared his lessons with my friend's daughter. She is a little fish, and they were so cute to watch together. Luke didn't put his face in the water the first day, but with the promise of two stickers on his chart each day, he had no problems putting his face in every time Bobbi asked the rest of the week!
Practicing zip and reach.
Diving for toys on the step.
My friend also has two girls around Cora and Violet's age. They had fun jumping together during Luke and Lilly's lesson.
Cora and Violet did a fantastic job at their swim lessons too. I think it was a good pairing to have them be together, instead of Violet and Luke like last year. They started learning the backstroke, worked on their knee dives, and worked on their technique for zip and reach too.
Luke enjoyed jumping on the tramp too!
I love, love, love this picture of him. It captures his happy personality perfectly!
All in all it was a great year for swimming lessons. And next year, Evelyn will be able to join in! I was pretty lucky, Keyton and Liz watched Evelyn at home two days and one day Grandma and Grandpa took the kids to lessons while I stayed home with Evelyn, and on the last day Grandma played with Evelyn at lessons, so it wasn't as torturous keeping her out of the water as I had anticipated. She was certainly jealous! She would hmpf and pout when Luke got in the water and hmpf and pout again when the girls got in. She certainly is a water baby!
Cora and Violet both did great with their knee dives.
I'm not sure why Cora was so worried about jumping off the diving board. She certainly wanted to, but she took a long time actually doing it. Funny, because last summer she jumped off tons in Oregon! Once she did it the first time though, she went several times after with no problems.
Violet has made leaps and bounds of progress with her fears, but still is awfully scared of the deep end. She jumped off the side first, and did jump off the diving board too, but came up crying saying her tummy hurt. I'm not sure if it was the belly flop or just her nerves, poor girl. Bobbi had her do a last knee dive to end on a positive note for the week, whic was a fantastic idea and seemed to help.
