One Month

Cora turned 1 month old today. We have been so excited to see this little one grow so much in the first month. Today she even began to follow objects with her eyes. We love her so much!

Cora's Nursery

We are still working on some more wall decorations for Cora's nursery, but here's what we have so far! I especially love that Kevin put a dimmer switch on the light so it doesn't blind us when we change Cora's diaper in the middle of the night!

This week I hope to paint the letters I bought that spell out her name to hang on the wall over the crib. I also got some picture frames to paint that we are going to put baby pics of Kevin and I in. I'll have to add another post so you can see the finished product, hopefully later this week!

Grandma Dawn, Aunt Kristen, and Cousin Sorayah came to visit on their way to Alabama. We are glad they came to meet Cora (and see us)!

First Sunday at Church

Today was Cora's first day at church. She got all dressed up in a fancy lacy dress from Grandma Jan and Grandpa Rod. When we got home from church we did a photo shoot, and here are the results!

All Stretched Out

This is how Cora would prefer to sleep, if we weren't worried about her staying wrapped up to not get cold!

Cora is sleeping in Cousin Monique's cradle in our room. It's been nice to have her so close to us-- especially for middle of the night feedings!

Ellis Family Reunion

Kevin, Cora, and I headed to Blackfoot this weekend for the Ellis family reunion. We saw lots of relatives, ate lots of good food, had a treasure hunt, went waterskiing, and made sailboats to race down the ditch in front of Grandpa and Grandma's house. It was lots of fun!

5 Generations

Here's Cora's great great grandma DeGiulio, great grandpa DeGiulio, grandpa Rod, mother, and her! We were so happy to be able to go to Blackfoot this weekend and see more of our relatives.

2 Week Doctor Visit

Cora Jan is growing! Her two week visit to the pediatrician was on Thursday. Cora Jan was born at 6 pounds 11 ounces. She came home from the hospital at 6 pounds 4 ounces. On Thursday she weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces! She also measured 2 inches longer (21 inches) than when she was born (19 inches).

Way to grow Cora Jan!

Cora and Margy

Margy is my nurse midwife who delivered Cora. She was terrific!

Photo Shoot

And Great Grandma and Grandpa DeGiulio too!

Visitors

For such a little girl, Cora has had a lot of visitors! We feel so lucky that many friends and relatives have come to visit and meet our new baby girl!

Cora's First Shopping Trip

Cora, Grandma Jan, and I went to Costco for Cora's first shopping trip! I thought it was a very appropriate first outing, as Costco is my favorite store. It only took about 10 minutes, three calls to Kevin, and lots of stares in the Costco parking lot for me to figure out how to get the carseat out of the car and how to unfold the stroller and get the carseat snapped in! Luckily it was easier to get the stroller folded up!

Daddy's Little Sparkler

Cora celebrated the Fourth of July with a new onesie that says Daddy's Little Sparkler on it. She also helped Grandma Jan win two games of Settlers of Catan!

Summertime dresses

Cora is still a bit small for the newborn sized clothes. Grandma Jan and I went shopping and found some cute preemie summer dresses. We'll see how long Cora can fit in them!

Snug as a Bug

Cora loves to kick her legs and have her hands wave up around her face. She is especially good at kicking out of even our best burrito blanket wraps. Fortunately, Grandma Jan showed us how to bundle her up extra tight to keep her warm and secure all night long. Cora couldn't kick out of this!

Our Little Flower

We got this pretty flower towel at a baby shower and think it just so adorable. She looks pretty small in it now...but in a few months will hopefully fill it out a little more. Last nights bath went a little better (same amount of crying, but parents a little more confident).

Cute Baby!!!

When Cora wakes up from a deep sleep she gives such funny and cute faces. Her yawns just crack me up as her mouth is as big as her head.
After waking up she often has this perplexed look on her face while she is looking at you. Her mouth is a tight "O" and she sometimes even wrinkles her forehead. There are more than a camera can take. It is just sight to behold in person.

Tummy Time!

We tried putting Cora on her tummy...though we may have to wait until she is more awake. She could easily pull her legs underneath her. It will be fun to see her muscle control improve in the coming months. She did not seem to interested in trying to move too much while on her tummy.

First Doctors Visit

We had our first doctors appointment. Our pediatrician wanted to see Cora a few days after birth to make sure we didn't have any questions. She is a super nice lady, and I think she will be a real asset to Cora's growth and development. And Cora is a very healthy 5 day old baby.
