The rides!

Honestly, we were too busy having fun to take very many pictures. Hence, most of our pictures are on the slower rides like the carousels, or ones where we took turns riding. It was especially helpful to have Kissie and Pata with us because for most rides you couldn't ride with one adult and four kids. The better adult to kid ratio really made the trip possible. Thankyou!

The carousels were such a big hit, especially with Evelyn (Cora only wanted to ride once or twice though). Evelyn didn't want to get off when the ride stopped, and rode over and over with kind grandparents. 

  

 

The line for Radiator Springs was crazy long, but Kevin got us fast passes, so we went once. It was a great ride, but not something we'd wait in line a hour for. The rest of Cars Town was great too, it was especially fun to walk through at night. 

 

Luke and Evelyn especially loved the rides in Bugs Land. The spinning ladybugs were Evelyn's favorite, she giggled and giggled on them. So cute!

 We got Luke tall enough for this ride, but apparently not awake enough! It was Soaring over California. He startled awake a few times when the fighter jets came zooming by, but that was it. The dark room was too tempting! Violet loved this ride, but is at a stage where she is trying to figure out what is real and what isn't. She had a lot of questions about if what we were seeing was real, and if we were flying, why were people's feet up in the sky ahead of us? 

 The kids were all pretty thrilled to drive cars at Autotopia. We zoomed to this ride first one day and didn't have any line. Evelyn was tall enough, but asleep. Cora loved it and went twice, and Violet was nervous about driving and wrecking. 

 

 Cora and Violet got pretty freaked out on all the old scary rides in Fantasyland, like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Pinocchio, and Snow White. There were even some tears involved. The car outside was much less scary. And they did like Peter Pan!

 Luke's favorite ride by far was Gadget's Go-Coaster. It was just the right amount of rollercoaster for him. Here's Luke and Cora in ToonTown, where the Go Coaster is. 

 

 The kids all had some spending money from doing chores around the house for Disney Dollars in January. They added that to money from Kissie and Pata and some birthday and Christmas money and had a lot of fun choosing how to spend their money. Luke didn't want a lot of toys, but was quite insistent on getting his face painted, and he was certain he wanted this tribal design. At the end of the day I tried to clean it off before we walked back because I knew he would fall asleep. He was so angry with me and burst into tears telling me I ruined it! So, some of it stayed on until the next morning. Poor guy, he loved it so much!

 Alice in Wonderland was a favorite ride. 

And so was the teacup ride. Evelyn giggled and giggled on this ride too. 

 

 

 Cora and Violet's favorite ride was the Grizzly River Run. They laughed and giggled and screamed! They acted as tour guides and told everyone what part was coming up next (luckily we were with nice people each time). We went 5 times the first day and 4 the second day, and it probably would have been more except the ride broke down. Luckily we were near the end when it did so the evacuation was easy. I'm so glad I got those dollar ponchos for everyone! 

Kevin took Cora to participate in the Jedi training, and she got to fight Darth Vader too. Too bad she has never seen the movies! I'm not sure she had a clue what was going on, but she said she had a great time.

 

The kids had so many favorite rides! They went on the Little Mermaid ride (new to us!) at least 15 times. It is fast to get on, and a good place to hang out while other adults are on California Screamin' (my favorite ride). Violet love the Matterhorn, Luke loved Toy Story Midway Mania, and we all went on the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster ride sooo many times. Even though some rides were closed for refurbishment for the off-season, it was still a great time to go because the lines were only long on one or two rides. 

My other favorite part were the parades. The floats, music, and dancing was just amazing! And I loved seeing the awed looks on the kids' faces. Even Evelyn was clapping along.  

 

 

 An interesting story about Cora... She really wanted that stuffed Simba she is holding, but she only had $10 left and it wasn't enough. Kevin was in the store with her and she wanted him to ask if there were any other stuffed animals she could buy for $10 (don't feel bad for her-- this was her 3rd toy- oy!). He told her she would have to ask herself. So she went up to the counter and asked, and they asked her which toy she really wanted, who was her favorite. She pointed to the stuffed Simba. The clerk made a phone call and then came back and took the tags off the Simba and gave it to her! Pretty crazy. But she said a lot of thankyous and told me later she didn't need the last $10 of her Disney Dollars. Pretty magical!

  I really wanted a picture of everyone all together, but it just didn't happen. Finally, on the last night, minutes before closing, we got this one. It's dark, and Evelyn is asleep in her stroller, but it's there!  

 Well, I guess we did have a lot of pictures! Combining cameras helped. It was a great trip, and I can't wait to go back!
