We spent the night before Pioneer Day at Kissie and Pata's house. We are lucky they have such a great downtown location! That's what really makes the parade doable.
We had a yummy dinner, walked around, got free balloons from Deseret Book, and played a card game.
Kevin was super nice and volunteered to save a spot for all of us overnight.
Dad gave him a break later in the evening and in the early morning too. So at least Kevin got a bit of sleep in a bed!
In the early morning, we popped out to look at the floats all lined up and getting ready for the parade. This is one of my favorite parts! I love seeing the up close and getting great pictures. Kissie took Cora and Violet out while I walked around more slowly with Luke and Evelyn. The floats are amazing!
You can see this smirky smile on Cora's face, she knew she could get a rise out of Kevin with this picture!
Lucky for her, she made up for it with this one.
We had a wonderful, shady spot and it was an overcast day, so watching the parade was really comfortable. Evelyn liked watching the horses and motorcycles, and also kept busy smashing a waterbottle and snacking.
We ended the day with pizza at the food court and playing at the dinosaur play place. It was a great fun family day!
