July Round-up

My cute grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. I love this picture of them!
More park pics of Evelyn, she loves being able to be out and climb around with the other kids!

Evelyn checking out the neighbor's dog. She keeps a close eye on him! It's better than tv!

Evelyn loves to throw stuff in the bathtub. We have to be careful what we leave in her reach during bathtime! We've had soggy toys and pajamas, lucky nothing has been damaged... yet!

My darling big girls!
Katrina and I took the kids on a hike. It was my first time hiking with four kids without Kevin. It was a hot, hot, hot day! But the kids had a good time, and it was a fun experience. I hope to be brave and do more of these next year!

This was Luke, post-hike, on a short Costco run. He fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep while I put him in the cart and shopped. He was a trooper!
One Saturday we spent an afternoon at BYU. The flowers were so beautiful!
Evelyn just wanted to toddle around, not stop for a picture!
We stopped at the Creamery on 9th for a treat.
Luke is sporting a BYU blue mustache!

Cowabunga Bay!

Kissie and Pata treated us all to a fun day at Cowabunga Bay! It started off as an overcast day, and never got super hot, but I think that helped keep the crowds down. We played hard all day long from opening to closing, right when it was starting to sprinkle again. Luke, Evelyn, and Violet all loved the little kids area, especially the big purple slide. Violet got brave and went on some of the big slides (just not the tunnel ones) and Luke, our little fish, loved those too. He didn't ever want to stop to eat, he just wanted to play! Cora went on as many slides as she could with whoever was free to go with her! The lazy river is always a big hit with everyone too.

Cute cousins!
I just love these pictures of Luke-- he was so happy!

 Kevin makes a big splash!

Kissie and Pata helped out SO MUCH with the kids. We couldn't have attempted a waterpark day without them!

Unfortunately, we waited until closing to get a family picture. Note to self: do that at the beginning, not the end! Luke and violet were pretty tired, and Luke was upset we had to go home.
As soon as we said it was time to go, Luke finally realized he was hungry. So he got a corndog on the way out. But after 7 hours of nearly nonstop play, he fell asleep before he could eat it! It was such a fun day!

The kids made a thankyou note for Kissie and Pata for the fun day. I love the illustrations on this one!

Pioneer Day

We spent the night before Pioneer Day at Kissie and Pata's house. We are lucky they have such a great downtown location! That's what really makes the parade doable.

We had a yummy dinner, walked around, got free balloons from Deseret Book, and played a card game.
Kevin was super nice and volunteered to save a spot for all of us overnight.
Dad gave him a break later in the evening and in the early morning too. So at least Kevin got a bit of sleep in a bed!
In the early morning, we popped out to look at the floats all lined up and getting ready for the parade. This is one of my favorite parts! I love seeing the up close and getting great pictures. Kissie took Cora and Violet out while I walked around more slowly with Luke and Evelyn. The floats are amazing!

You can see this smirky smile on Cora's face, she knew she could get a rise out of Kevin with this picture!
Lucky for her, she made up for it with this one.
We had a wonderful, shady spot and it was an overcast day, so watching the parade was really comfortable. Evelyn liked watching the horses and motorcycles, and also kept busy smashing a waterbottle and snacking.
We ended the day with pizza at the food court and playing at the dinosaur play place. It was a great fun family day!
