Violet's 3rd Birthday

Little Miss Violet turned 3 on March 31st! I'm not sure who was more excited about her birthday, her or Cora. Cora has been giving her preschool teachers a countdown of days until Violet's birthday for several months now.

The morning of her birthday, Violet prayed for a great birthday breakfast, a great birthday lunch and a great birthday dinner! She was excited to pick out her birthday meals! We had 'weekend' cereal for breakfast, pizza for lunch and hot dogs for dinner (with chicken red pepper spinach sausages for the grown-ups-- yum!).
We played lots of games and made it a really fun day for her. Kissie and Pata came over for dinner, presents, and mint brownie sundaes-- Violet's favorite icecream is green!
Violet got a puzzle, craft supplies, dresses and leggings (her favorite!), and some dollies for her birthday. The big present was at the end-- Kissie and I distracted her while Pata and Kevin brought out this big beauty.
And after that, it was hard convince any of them to turn around for a picture! We did a little trial dollhouse (here-- an awesome buy by the way, just use a coupon) a few months ago to see if they would really play with it. But it really was too small, especially when friends came to visit. This is big enough even for Luke to join in too.

We finally got this picture... Pata had to make Luke turn around, even if we finally convinced the girls.

Oh, and at 3 years old, Violet weighs 34.6 pounds (83%) and is 38.4 inches tall (79%).

Kissie, the 100 Miler!

Kissie ran a 100 mile race on Antelope Island the last weekend in March. It was a cold and rainy weekend! She finished in under 28 hours, a great time. They started at noon on Friday and ended Saturday afternoon. We went up Saturday morning and saw her a few times on her last 15 miles and at the finish line.

You kind of forget about it since it is so close to us, but the Great Salt Lake really is really unique! Sometimes I miss looking out over it driving too and from Stansbury.

A bit more of March

Cora got to bring Brinkley home from preschool again in March. It's a fun preschool activity that she loves-- he stays the night and the kids write what they did with him and add pictures too.
We had to do round 2 of potty training with Violet. It just didn't work the first time around for more than a week or two. I think she just didn't want to do it once we were done with the prizes! We used this method the second time, and I'd highly recommend it. It's totally worth the $20 ebook fee. It worked for Violet because of just the wording that you use-- giving her full control. We saw that made a difference over and over and over. Since she is quite a stubborn little girl! It does require setting aside EVERYTHING else for 3 full days, which I was kind of dreading, but it was actually really fun! We did lots of crafts, played lots of games, and watched some of her favorite shows. Cleaning the house, errands, computer time.... everything else was saved for after her bedtime. And it worked! Thankfully!
The leprechauns visited our house on St. Patricks Day! Their arrival was highly anticipated due to Cora learning about all the tricks they play at gymnastics and preschool. They turned our milk and potty water green, and left little green footprints all over, some of which led to gold coins hidden in the girls' dollhouse!

Luke's First Haircut

Luke got his first haircut, courtesy of his mom, sitting on the bathroom counter. He just needed a little trim in front, along his neckline, and over his ears. It went pretty well, especially for my first try. He stayed pretty still, able to mostly resist grabbing the shiny scissors. Look at that handsome man!!

Fairie Princess Tea

Our friends invited us to a Faerie Princess Tea put on by Provo City. It was so well done! Ballerinas, a cute little lunch, promenade, pictures with the Faerie King, harp music, and the girls got to dress up. We had a magical time!
