Baby Bentley

Bentley Shad DeGiulio was born on May 6th! My kids have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their newest cousin.
Bailee and Layla with their new baby brother!
We visited Shad and Jen's house on Friday to meet him. He is adorable! The kids were so excited to be able to hold him-- multiple times! Evelyn never wanted to give up her turn and the others begged for more. There's nothing like holding a sweet newborn! I told them to take advantage of it, they probably won't be able to hold a baby this new for a very long time.

 Cute cousins!
Kevin got to meet Bentley at family dinner for Mother's Day. So sweet! By then I wised up and set a timer for each kid to hold him, in a designated order. A bit more smooth! Lucky kids to have an aunt who is so kind to share her baby so much!

Cora's Tumbling Performance

Look at sweet Cora before her tumbling performance! She was so excited to wear a little bit of makeup for the occasion.

The performance was at the Daybreak community center. The girls waited in this room between their warm-up practice and the performance.
Cora did a fantastic job! The still pictures don't do justice to the action, so I'll put the video link in at the end. Cora did her backhandsprings wonderfully and only had a little spot on her aerial. She did great on all her other tricks and the timing too.

Rachel has been a great teacher! She has helped Cora a lot with providing a friendly, upbeat atmosphere that is also firm and concentrating on skills. We are sad she is moving!
Cora has especially loved going to class with her two friends, who referred us to Rachel. I loved being able to carpool-- it was so cute to hear them all giggling on the way to and from class!
 Congratulations Cora!

April Videos

Luke figured out how to go down the fireman pole! It's a favorite for Cora and Violet too.
Evelyn was so excited to find this 'flower'... and to make me chase it a bunch of times before I wised up.
Cora almost has her aerial! she just needs a mini 'confidence spot'. Too bad the power went out,s o the video is dark.
Violet has been working hard on her back hand spring. She can do it herself, but is working on jumping more and keeping her legs together to have more power.
Cora is also working on consecutive backhandsprings-- she almost made it to 4!

April Roundup

Kevin had to work late one night, so the kids and I headed to the new aquarium. It was huge! We'll have to go again sometime soon when they aren't as tired and see some more, but it was really cool.

We are gearing up to garden this summer! We are doing a community garden again this year, but a double plot instead of a single one. My freezer is almost empty from our produce last year, I'm excited to start again and know a bit more this time around!
Cute Evelyn, getting her picture taken for some of her birthday thankyou texts and cards.
I got some ring pops from Sam's for the egg hunt and they were a big hit. Evelyn especially loves them! You can always tell when she has had one recently.

Violet's page about the rain from her school journal-- I guess she gets it from me! Look at that frowny face! And Cora's cute drawing of her and I.

Violet's Basilisk lizard she painted at school. Luke and Evelyn playing on the xylophone type installation in front of the library. Evelyn is finally big enough to make the tones ring!

Grandma and Grandpa DeGiulio came down for a doctor's appointment, and we were lucky to see them! We visited at Kissie and Pata's, ate at City Creek, and played at the dino play place.

Unfortunately, Cora had left for tumbling class before we took this picture. But it's a good one!
This turned out to be more of an 'action' shot-- the kids weren't cooperating much by this point in the evening!
Luke loved that Grandma would play 'guess which hand' over and over with him.

The kids all gathered around to watch Frozen while the adults visited. Pretty cute!

Kevin caught this darling moment. It's so nice to see the kids loving on each other!
There is a great playground by our Herriman 'beach' reservoir. The kids played there for a bit, but I couldn't keep them from the sand. We will be going back this summer, I'm sure! Evelyn could have thrown sand in the water for hours.

We spent a day of spring break downtown with Kissie. It was a pretty perfect day! We took lunch to the Brigham Young memorial park and walked up to the Pratt graveyard too, then ended on Temple Square.
The girls call this their 'cute heads' pose.

Pata came out to visit for a bit too.

Spring is such a beautiful time of year!

This was Cora's reaction to my April fools joke. Google decided she needed a little Hasslehoff photo bomb. #aprilfools

@terrahjan found this book at the library yesterday and it has not left Evelyn's hands since. Seriously...not even for bed.

I'm doing some hemming and Luke just asked me what the iron was. LOL! It certainly doesn't get much use at our house
