Moab, part 3, Canyonlands National Park

Our last day of exploring was in Canyonlands National Park. It's huge and spread out, so we chose to go to the Needles area.

We made a quick stop at Newspaper Rock on the way in. I had really wanted the kids to see petroglyphs, so this was a perfect surprise.
We hiked the small loop at Roadside Ruin. I think the highlight of the day was the Cave Spring hike. It had some shade, a small spring, two ladders to climb on the route, pretty views, cowboy artifacts, and we saw a bunny too. So fun!

We had a picnic lunch and fed the crows all kinds of food they probably shouldn't have. Then did another hike. All the red rock and blear blue skies were breathtaking!

Can you spot Liz in there?
There's Pata and I in this one.

(and hot, Luke wouldn't delay his drink for a photo!)

What a cute picture of sweetie pie Violet!
Siblings and spouses, with a few backpack babies too!
Sneaky boys running away from a picture taking mom!
We ended at Big Spring Canyon Overlook. It was spectacular! I was so glad we decided to get out instead of just driving by. There were lots of places to climb, and amazing views.
That blue spot in the middle of the rock formation is Kevin!

This little girl was excited to explore on her own, out of the backpack and carseat. So much dirt to play in!
 This doesn't look too high.....
until you see the other side! Hold on kids!

Thursday night when we got back, we went swimming again-- refreshing! Then it was one more relaxing evening before packing up and heading home Friday morning. Lucky for us, we also made a stop by Krispy Kreme in Orem on the way home. The kids loved seeing the cream-filled donuts being made, and didn't mind eating a donut of their own too!
It was a pretty amazing trip, and we saw and did a lot, especially considering how many little kids we were herding a long. Great memories for sure!
